It has been confirmed today that The BBC and ITV are joining forces to launch a new British-based streaming service to rival Netflix.


BritBox will offer "an unrivalled collection of British boxsets and original series" as well as "brand new commissions for British production companies specifically created for BritBox."

The cost for this new service has yet to be announced but ITV has confirmed that they aim to launch in the second half of 2019.
