The United Kingdom's 2020 Eurovision Song Contest entry is called My Last Breath and will be performed by singer-songwriter James Newman.

James, who has written for Ed Sheeran and Jess Glynne, and is the older brother of John Newman, will perform the song in the event's final in Rotterdam in The Netherlands on 16 May.

Speaking to BBC Radio One, he said: "Since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to be an artist and performer myself. It just feels like the right time to start putting songs out."

My Last Breath was written by James while staying near a Scottish loch with his pals and fellow songwriters, Ed Drewett, Iain James and Adam Argyle.

Inspiration for the song came from a documentary about a diver in the North Sea who has to be saved after getting cut off from the rest of his crew.
