undefinedMembers of the Birmingham LGBTQ community are mourning the death of one of the organisers of the popular Asian LGBTQ night 'Saathi' held each month at The Nightingale Club, after he fell to his death at the weekend.

Perdes Simplay, who was one of the organisers of Saathi, fell to his death at a property in Torquay.

Commenting on the devastating news, David Nash, Operations Director at The Nightingale Club said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of our friend and colleague, Perdes Simplay. We’ve worked very closely with Perdes and the team from Saathi during their tenure at the Nightingale Club over the last six years. We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to his friends and family and all involved with Saathi”.

Police have confirmed that they were called to a property following concerns for the welfare of a bare-chested man, on the roof of a block of flats in Torquay on Sunday night (17 March).

Despite the efforts of police, ambulance and fire crews who arrived on the scene at 9.35pm,  Perdes fell 20ft just before 11pm and was later confirmed dead in Torbay Hospital.
